As an owner / operator of several small sided properties and producer of over 80 grassroots tournaments, we understand that the youth sports landscape is getting crowded and some would say....over saturated.
The good news for families, facilities, governing bodies and sports commissions is there will always be an appetite for parents and coaches willing to invest in their kids. On the business side of the multi billion dollar youth sports industry, brands want to engage these active consumers who are loyal to products which are perceived to enhance performance. Coupled with communities eager to put "Heads in Beds". It's a beautiful combination to an ego driven scalable economic model. According to The US Sporting Goods Association there are over 40 million boys and girls kids ages 7-18 participating in youth sports. That is a very large pool of consumers seeking an edge and more importantly an opportunity to PLAY.
What's next out there in the sports tournament landscape, we anticipate it to be the USA Sports Festivals. NASG has rolled out this blended weekend Small Sided Games -BBQ- Music-Fireworks- Festival rolled up into one super cool event. As full sided club teams seek the elite athlete, which makes up the top level athlete or in reality those with the financial means, we seek the bigger pool of average and recreational players who appreciate an elite experience. Our small sided properties "Hoop It Up 3on3 Basketball, Kick It 3v3 Soccer, Let It Fly 4on4 Flag Football, Sticks Up 7on7 Lacrosse" have a rich history of 20+ years in the marketplace. Essentially, we aren't creating new tournaments, we overlay our pre existing properties and passionate athletes into one huge event.
The model for small sided games requires less full fields / courts as the facilities are divided to fit smaller fields/courts with more space for multiple games using the same amount of refs maximizing the space. Less players on the team means more touches, less politics, skill development and more "PT" playing time. Lets face it...coaches, kids and parents know you cant get better if you don't touch the ball. At the end of the day athletes want to get on the field, families want to see their kids play and moms want it the all-in-one package to make her life easier....
USA Sports Festivals, Kick It, Hoop It Up, Let It Fly, Sticks Up are all non sanctioned sports properties owned and operated by North American Sports Group, LLC with offices in Denver, Saratoga Springs, Tampa and Atlanta.
