Three Ways New Clients Find Your Business

When was the last time you decided on a new restaurant or hair stylist by looking in the yellow pages (Perhaps If you where born before 1960).  Chances are that you will choose a new stylist based off a trusted friends recommendation.

Word of Mouth-  Think about how many times you ask friends if they saw that new movie before you decide if it's worth your time and effort to actually GO to the movie theater, or even wait until it comes out on Netflix?  You finally decide to go because a trusted friend posted on twitter and facebook how amazing that Sly Stallone movie was in 3D (It could happen). Social Media is word of mouth marketing...How do you use it for your business?  Do you talk to your followers or with your followers?

Referrals- Nothing is better than getting the "Hook Up" for a table at the new hot spot, tickets, discounts or free stuff!  Once you get a new consumer or have had one for a long time, they are your best form of advertising and "Word of Mouth".  What have you done to give loyal clients an incentive to refer their friends?

Visibility-  You don't need to be on main street for people to find you.  Sure great real estate is important in many businesses, but how often are you promoting your business and especially you outside of your business walls?  Is your business and are YOU personally effectively utilizing free social media tools, Linkedin groups and connecting the dots with synergistic partners?  New clients unfortunately aren't seeking us out, every notice those folks spinning those advertising signs on main street? You need to be that spinning sign person Digitally! Spin away...

Please add comments to what have you done to create awesome word of mouth marketing on your social media platforms.  What referral programs have worked successfully for you?  Have you ever worked spinning signs?
